BUSHKILL, PA (December 2013) - Fernwood Resort, in partnership with Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm, welcomes the holiday season with a package that includes four tickets to the Quiet Valley Old Time Christmas and two nights of studio villa accommodations at Fernwood Resort starting from $328. Gina Bertucci, spokesperson for Fernwood Resort, said, "The Quiet Valley Christmas weekends offer a look back in history to the celebration of the holidays in a simpler time with hand-made gifts and foods."
The Quiet Valley Old Time Christmas runs the weekends of December 6 and December 13, 2013 from 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm daily. Spend a winter evening on the farm with guides dressed in period clothing leading groups by lantern light through the various buildings on the farm. Experience Christmas in the 1800s as you tour the Christmas Putz display, a living barnyard nativity, caroling, and the opportunity to purchase handcrafted holiday items with proceeds benefiting the Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm.
Bertucci continues, "Spend the day at Fernwood in the trees at Pocono TreeVentures and Pocono Zip Racer, horseback riding, all season tubing at Blue Lightning tubing, swimming or relaxing in your villa, then head out to the Farm for a brisk walk in the winter air. Learn something about farm living and get in the holiday spirit before it became commercialized, then head back to Fernwood to have dinner at Wintergreens Patio Grill and warm up by the fire."
To reserve a Quiet Valley package, go to FernwoodResortPoconos.com. Other specials are offered on the site that include tickets to nearby attractions and festivals such as shopping at The Crossings Premium Outlets, performances at the Sherman Theater, skiing at Shawnee and Camelback Ski Areas, a holiday performance at Shawnee Playhouse, snowtubing at Fernwood, Pocono TreeVentures and Pocono Zip Racer, Blue Lightning all season tubing and local holiday events.
Fernwood is located on Route 209 in Bushkill, PA adjacent to the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Bertucci concludes, "Early December is a great time to visit the Pocono Mountains, get your holiday shopping done at The Crossings, and get in some skiing all before the holiday rush."
