BUSHKILL, PA (FALL 2013) – Fall is a beautiful time in the Pocono Mountains and, with the addition of Blue Lightning all season tubing to Fernwood Resort, you can now slide down the slope surrounded by the beautiful fall foliage of the Pocono Mountains. Gina Bertucci, spokesperson for Blue Lightning, said, "Traditionally the arrival of fall to the Poconos heralds the return of cooler temperatures, spectacular displays of fall foliage, a host of fall festivals and lots of outdoor attractions to take it all in." She continues, "This summer we added two new attractions to our resort including an aerial ropes adventure course and Blue Lightning Tubing - the only all season tubing hill in the region. These two new amenities that offer a birdseye view of the fall foliage in the ropes course and the opportunity to tube in the fall, are two unique and fantastic experiences you can now enjoy within walking distance to your villa."
The new park is located on the slope that in winter is home to Fernwood’s Winter Fun Center. The park allows guests to experience the thrill of tubing throughout the year on lanes made of a blue synthetic turf-like material. It is easy to do. Customers ride the new Magic Carpet lift up to the top then glide down in hard bottomed tubes that are lubricated for an exhilarating experience much like sledding but in a tube without snow or water.
Fernwood Resort and Tree Tops Fairway Villas Blue Lightning Tubing weekend packages start at $160 a night for a studio villa and include two tickets to Blue Lightning all season tubing. There are lights for night tubing and throughout the fall there will be special events such as Halloween slides, movie nights and scenic fall family days. Guests of the resort have preferred pricing for other resort amenities such as Pocono TreeVentures, canoeing on the Delaware River, horseback riding, paintball, and discounts to nearby attractions such as Shawnee Mountain Festivals and Bushkill Falls – the Niagara of Pennsylvania both located just minutes from Fernwood Resort.
Blue Lightning will be open weekends and holidays through December until the opening of the Fernwood Winter Fun Center when winter returns. Specialty nights are also offered at Wintergreens Patio Grill located at the base of the tubing park that include Karoke, holiday activities and live music.
Blue Lightning tubing is located on Route 209 in the center of the Fernwood Resort at the Tree Tops and Fairway timeshare villas. Bertucci concludes, "Fall is a perfect time for a getaway to the Poconos and whether you like an active outdoor lifestyle or prefer to just sit back, relax by a fire and admire the beautiful foliage, we offer something for everyone."
