BUSHKILL, PA (Winter 2013-14) – Fernwood Resort has partnered with the Pocono Indian Museum to offer an overnight package that includes tickets to the self guided Pocono Indian Museum Tour and accommodations in a studio villa. Gina Bertucci, spokesperson for Fernwood Resort, said about the new package, “We are surrounded by a rich history of the indigenous peoples that inhabited the Delaware River Valley. The Pocono Indian Museum has a collection of artifacts and displays that document the history of the Native Americans that lived in the region with a self-guided audio tour that gives guests insight into what it was to live as an Indian.”

    The Pocono Indian Museum is located on Route 209 just before you arrive at Fernwood Resort. It is the only museum in Northeastern Pennsylvania dedicated to showing the history of the Delaware Indians through displays of ancient artifacts, weapons, tools, foods and medicines. The self guided museum tour takes approximately 30 minutes with visitors carrying an audio device which delivers a narration explaining the unique displays. The Pocono Indian Museum package includes two tickets and two nights of studio villa accommodations starting from $90 a night. Bertucci continues, "Coupled with the many other amenities we offer, this tour is a perfect way to spend some time indoors after fun in the great outdoors.”
