BUSHKILL, PA (FALL 2017) – Fall is a beautiful time in the Pocono Mountains and with Blue Lightning Tubing at The Villas and Fernwood Resort, you can now slide down the slope surrounded by the beautiful fall foliage of the Pocono Mountains. Gina Bertucci, spokesperson for Blue Lightning, says, “Traditionally the arrival of fall to the Poconos heralds the return of cooler temperatures, spectacular displays of fall foliage, a host of fall festivals and lots of outdoor attractions to take it all in.” She continues, “Our amenities offer a bird’s-eye view of the fall foliage at Pocono TreeVentures aerial ropes adventure course and Pocono Zip Racer dual 1,000 ft racing zip lines. In addition to these amenities, the opportunity to tube in the fall is a fantastic experience you can now enjoy within walking distance to your villa.”
Blue Lightning Tubing is located on the slope that, in winter, is home to The Villas White Lightning Tubing park. It allows guests to experience the thrill of tubing throughout the year on lanes made of a blue synthetic turf-like material. It is easy to do. Customers ride the new Magic Carpet lift up to the top then glide down in hard bottomed tubes that are lubricated for an exhilarating experience – much like sledding but in a tube without snow or water.
The Villas and Fernwood Resort Blue Lightning Tubing packages start at $121 a night midweek for a studio villa and include two tickets to Blue Lightning all-season tubing. Weekend accommodations are also available for an additional $100 per night. There are lights for night tubing and throughout the fall, there will be live entertainment at Wintergreens Patio Grill located next to Blue Lightning Tubing at the bottom of the hill. Guests of the resort have preferred pricing for other resort amenities such as Pocono TreeVentures, which also includes Pocono KidVentures children’s ropes courses and Pocono Zip Quest hybrid zip line course, canoeing on the Delaware River, horseback riding, paintball, and discounts to nearby attractions such as Shawnee Mountain Festivals and Bushkill Falls, both located just minutes from the Resort.
Blue Lightning will be open Mondays and Fridays from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, Saturdays from noon to 7:00 pm and Sundays from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm through November until the opening of the White Lightning Tubing when winter returns.
Blue Lightning Tubing is located on Route 209 just off Exit 309 of I-80 minutes from Delaware Water Gap. Bertucci concludes, “Fall is the perfect time for a getaway to the Poconos and whether you like an active outdoor lifestyle or prefer to just sit back, relax by a fire and admire the beautiful foliage, we offer something for everyone.” For Blue Lightning information and reservations, go to BlueLightningTubing.com.
