BUSHKILL, PA (SUMMER 2017) – The Villas and Fernwood Resort have joined with Shawnee Mountain and the Pocono Garlic Growers as sponsors of the two-day Pocono Garlic Festival held at Shawnee Mountain on Labor Day Weekend, September 2nd and 3rd, 2017 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm daily. Gina Bertucci, spokesperson for the Resort, says, "The Garlic Festival is a very popular annual event that attracts thousands of garlic lovers. It is a great way to spend the last unofficial weekend of summer enjoying the Pocono Mountains."
Overnight packages include two tickets to the Festival and two nights of accommodations in a studio villa starting from $203 per night. Bertucci continues, "We recommend spending the day at the festival eating garlic, shopping for garlic related items, listening to music and enjoying the day. Then return to the resort to try one of our attractions including Pocono TreeVentures aerial ropes course, Pocono Zip Racer dual 1,000 ft racing zip lines, Pocono Zip Quest hybrid zip line course, Pocono KidVentures children’s ropes course, and Blue Lightning all-season tubing. After all that fun, you can also take a swim or head out to the links for a round of golf.”
The Garlic Festival showcases the region's garlic, eateries, wineries, artisans and performers. With two outdoor stages, an outdoor activity area, indoor theatre and multiple strolling acts, festival goers will enjoy a wide variety of non-stop live music and 'garlic-themed' novelty shows and family entertainment.
The Villas and Fernwood are a 400-acre four-season resort located in the heart of the Pocono Mountains just minutes from Shawnee Mountain. In addition to the ropes course, zip lines and all-season tubing, they offer indoor and outdoor pools, golf on an 18-hole par 71 course, horseback riding, live entertainment, Wintergreens Patio Grill with lakeside dining and summer theme nights, massage, a fitness center, bumper boats, hiking in the nearby Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, canoeing on the Delaware River, paintball, miniature golf and trips to nearby attractions including The Crossings Premium Outlets and Bushkill Falls.
Tickets to the Festival are $9.00 in advance or $12.50 at the gate for adults; tickets for children ages 2-12 are $7.50 and $8.50. Parking is free.
